Meeting Announcement: 1/21/15

Join your neighbors for the Wednesday, January 21st meeting of the Columbia Forest Civic Association (CFCA).  The January 21st meeting which begins at 7:00 pm is being hosted by our neighbors at the Carlyle House Condominium, located at 5300 Columbia Pike.

Visitor parking is available in the front of the building in the visitor parking area as well next to the tennis courts which are to the left of the building.  To gain entrance to the building you will need to buzz the front desk and register your car in the guest parking log at the front desk.  The meeting itself will take place in the Carlyle Room which is located on the terrace level.

The following is a list of some of the important Agenda items which will be discussed at this meeting:

  • Presentation from the representatives from the Department of Community Planning, Housing & Development along with representatives of the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing on the construction time line for the new 8 story high rise affordable housing apartment building to be built behind the Carlyle House Condominium.
  • Introduction and discussion with Captain Stu Ellis, from the Arlington County Police Department who is the Third District Commander which represents the Columbia Forest Civic Association neighborhood.
  • Updated on traffic light for S. Frederick St. and Columbia Pike intersection (see article on back of page)
  • Discussion for re-examining getting the County’s Bicycle & Pedestrian Coordinator to re open the request to support a new bike trail behind Carlton Condominium and The Brittany Condominium.  (Note:  this was something that was previously discussed several years ago and the decision at that time was made not to pursue it)
