An email to the Civic Association from Michael Chiappa of APAH:
I’m writing to give an update on the Columbia Hills construction.
The utility work in the street was partially delayed due to mechanical failures on Friday and then again by the rain yesterday. We expect the work to be completed and inspected tomorrow and the remaining steel plates to be removed at that time. The lower plate was removed from the street, per the update I sent last week. We are still working to schedule the milling and overlay of Frederick Street for the short term.
I’m also glad to announce that there will be no more hoe ramming on the weekend. During the week, there will be intermittent use of the hoe rams, but we will not need to do this on a continuous basis. Bozzuto estimates that this intermittent use may occur for another 3 weeks, but given their experience with the rock on site, it could vary. I will follow up in two weeks’ time to give you a more definitive completion date. Please find attached the 6 week look ahead schedule for the project.
We are grateful for your patience and will continue to try to address your feedback throughout this process.
