Washington Gas Night Work on Columbia Pike

Washington Gas will be performing night work in the area of your Columbia Forest Neighborhood Association area in Arlington during the period of June 12th through June 23rd.   Night work will be performed at the intersection of Columbia Pike and S Greenbrier St. Northern Pipeline (WG’s Underground Contractor) will send out notices to the property owners affected.

Nighttime work on Columbia Pike west end

There will be nighttime work this week at the Columbia Pike and South Greenbrier Street intersection for Washington Gas’ gas main relocation. Crews will be working at this location from 7 pm to 7 am each night through Saturday morning.

During this work there will be left-turn restrictions from eastbound Columbia Pike onto Greenbrier Street and from southbound Greenbrier Street onto Columbia Pike. Police will be present to help direct traffic.

More about this project

 Washington Gas has commenced work on relocating their in-street gas main. They are required to relocate their main prior to the County beginning construction on Columbia Pike improvements between Four Mile Run and the Arlington/Fairfax County line.

 The gas main relocation work is expected to last until fall 2017. Additional information can be found on the County’s project webpage.
