Keeping Fido Cool!

We love dogs and we have a cool place for them to explore during the summer months. Bring Fido to James Hunter Dog Park for a cool-down unlike any other — with water features designed for our canine friends. Check out all eight of our dog parks here. (Should your dog play in an Arlington stream?)

Preschooler Program Openings for Fall

Space is still available at Carlin HallGunstonLubber Run and Madison! Half-day preschooler programs provide children ages 3-5 with their first social group experience outside the home. Emphasis is placed on experiencing age-appropriate recreation activities, being part of a group, cooperating, listening, sharing, developing play and movement skills, and discovering nature. The Creative Preschoolers Program is a nine-month program, running from September to May. Details available here.

Free Movie Nights in Arlington

Outdoor movies are a favorite pastime — and Arlington has a great lineup this summer. Bring friends and family to enjoy al fresco movies. Check out the great lineup of films at Arlington Mill Community Center on Thursdays, Rosslyn Cinema + Pub in Gateway on Fridays or Penrose Square on Saturdays.

 Let’s Play Ball!

Bluemont Park was recently renovated and opening day was fantastic! Check out the Around Arlington story here and learn more about the Bluemont project here!

Quality parks and recreation programs enhance the viability of people
and places and serve as an investment in the future. Our spaces keep you active, which reduces health care costs. And our attractive spaces reduce vandalism and crime.  We bring life to Arlington and Arlington to life!
